Schramsberg Vineyards has a history as long as the wines are delicious. Their timeline goes all the way back to the 19th century when a German immigrant named Jacob Schram made his winery and homestead high up on Diamond Mountain. Nearly 100 years later, Jack and Jamie Davies would come to restore the property to specifically make ‘America’s most prestigious’ sparkling wine. The Davies have since recognized that Diamond Mountain is perfectly situated for premium quality Cabernet Sauvignon. They have pursued both lines of winemaking to the pinnacle, and have been rewarded much success. A wine tasting in the caves of Schramsberg is a summertime must and a visitor favorite.
