Judgment of Paris 40th Anniversary Passport
May 26, 2016
In 1976, in celebration of the American Bicentennial, Steven Spurrier M.W., a wine-shop owner in Paris, organized a blind tasting, pitting renowned reds from Bordeaux and whites from Burgundy against Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays from California – varieties considered the exclusive domain of the French.
To mark the 40th anniversary of this historic event, a special Passport tasting portfolio allows you to experience these groundbreaking wineries. Enjoy elevated experiences at five of the participating wineries, all within the beautiful Napa Valley.
Chateau Montelena Winery invites you to enjoy a unique seated tasting experience in the private Library Room that includes older vintages of both the Napa Valley Chardonnay and Estate Cabernet Sauvignons.
Freemark Abbey offers an in-depth experience that walks you through current Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon releases from the historic Bosche and Sycamore Vineyards.
Spring Mountain Vineyard invites you to a tasting of five estate grown wines from current and library vintages. Your guided sensory exploration takes place in the 1885 Villa Miravalle or in the 19th century caves.
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars showcases their finest wines from the FAY and SLV estate vineyards.
At Clos Du Val your passport entitles you to their exclusive Vineyard Cabana Tasting.
