Brion Wise and his eponymous winery have been committed to excellence since day one. Born on a farm in Washington state, he went on to become an engineer for Shell Oil Co. As he traveled the world for business and travel, Brion found wineries and restaurants were becoming a classroom for a new passion in his life. And as the farming gene was still strong, Brion came to Sonoma in order pursuit his new dreams of wine making. Brion selected the special terroir in the Sonoma Valley and Sonoma Coast to be part of his winery. Working with Brion now for well over a decade is winemaker Massimo Monticelli, previously with Silver Oak. In 2012 Mark Harold was brought in to take the Cabernet Sauvignon program to the next level. One of our favorites is sourced from the highly touted and 130+ year old Monte Rosso Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. It explodes with bright and exotic raspberry imbued with rose and vanilla. The mouth feel is intense and coating but silky tannins carry this wine through a long finish.
6860 Serenity Way
Santa Rosa, CA 95404
Proprietor Eric Flanagan noticed something happening in the early 1990’s, the wine quality was exploding in Sonoma County. His enthusiasm during this dynamic and exciting time led him to purchase his first forty acres in the Bennett Valley. A dozen years later Eric purchased a Russian River Valley vineyard and is now producing premium wines from some of the best locations in Sonoma. Winemaker Cabell Coursey joined in 2014 after his obsession with wine was sparked while working a harvest in Burgundy. He followed the Pinot Noir to Oregon, New Zealand. and finally to California. A must try at Flanagan is the Serenity Way, a true tête de cuvée of the Flanagan Bourdeaux varieties. Less than ten barrels are selected for this blend, and the nose is dominated by black fruits and crushed rock, while the palate is pure blackberry and vanilla.
15188 Sonoma Hwy
Glen Ellen, CA 95442
Joan and Rich Little always wanted to raise a family and produce red wine in the Sonoma Valley. In 1996, they achieved their dreams by purchasing a 25 acre property in Glen Ellen and have since raised four children, restored the properties old farm house, and planted another 17 acres. In 2002 they established a small bonded winery producing no more than 2500 cases, and Joan’s brother Ted Coleman began crafting award winning wines. This small family operation produces one of our most memorable Zinfandel in Sonoma from their estate vineyards. The bouquet on the 2013 Zinfandel is inviting with ripe berry and cherry aromas. The ripe fruit is concentrated with boysenberry and a balanced rich middle followed by a silky texture and clean finish.
