A. Rafanelli Winery

For over 100 years, the Rafanelli family has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley. Alberto Rafanelli, an Italian immigrant first founded the winery in the 1900’s, and four generations later, the family is still keeping with tradition by growing premium grapes and producing premium wines. The winery is still small enough to be family owned and operated and the wines are limited, focused on exceptional Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are not only produced in small numbers, but they are sold almost entirely direct from the winery, meaning a wine tour and tasting here is the best way to get the wines you want from this legendary Sonoma family winery.
Arrowood Vineyards

Glen Ellen, CA 95442

Arrowood has been 100% Sonoma County since 1986 and have been producing character driven wines from vineyards west of the Mayacamas Ridge since then. They focus on sustainable and organically farmed vineyards in Sonoma and its many sub regions. The winery itself is in the historic sub AVA of Sonoma Valley in the heart of Sonoma County. This particular region is noted for being a warmer pocket in a cool area, the location is well suited for fine Cabernet Sauvignon. While Arrowood Vineyards is known for Cabernet, they helped pioneer Rhone varieties like Syrah and Viognier in Sonoma. The precision and balance in all of the wines make it a benchmark for great California wines.
Imagery Estate Winery

Glen Ellen, CA 95442

One of the most unique wine experiences in Sonoma is at the experimental Imagery Estate Winery. They explore less well known grape varieties as well as classic grape varieties without being swallowed up in big blends. Highlighting special vineyards sites, local artists decorate wine labels that are as expressive as the vines themselves. The dedication to ‘edgier’ winemaking makes this a standout in Sonoma wine country with literally hundreds of wine tasting options. This place is a fun place besides the wines; there is an on-site art gallery and a gorgeous patio to entertain you while you try some of the most different wines in Sonoma.
Sonoma County offers something for every Sonoma wine tour. A wine tasting followed by a redwood grove picnic, a drive through a fertile valley to local lodging and restaurants, Sonoma has an old world charm that will have you dreaming of wine country. This world class location for sophisticated wines is wrapped in rustic charm and filled with casually dressed clientele.
