Bella Winery is the epitome of a small and family run Dry Creek winery. Their estate Lily Hill Vineyard was first planted in 1915 and still produces intensely aromatic and full flavored wines. The winemaking is focused on small lots of the century old Zinfandel and small local growers who are passionate about the heritage and quality of the vines. There are 8 separate blocks of Zinfandel on Lily Hill which are picked and handled individually through production. The pretty and floral Zinfandel is then put in a combination of new and used, French and American oak for 18 months. Silky blackberries and exotic spices fill the palate with a rich and sophisticated mouth feel, while the aroma is lively and classic for the region with dark fruits and licorice.

The winemaking style at Quivira emphasizes a balance of terroir and a hands off approach to make low production wines that are complex and concentrated. They use the principles taught by Rudolf Steiner which means minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar, allowing for clear and focused expressions of Dry Creek Zinfandel. Their flagship, the Black Boar Zinfandel is a heightened expression of wine growing and winemaking. Some of the vines from the home ranch are near 40 years old, and produce wines of deep character. This Zinfandel is ripe and lush which produces a stylistic expression of the classic California grape variety.
Sbragia Family Vineyards

Sbragia Family Vineyards is a longtime dream finally realized. The culmination of years of experience at this family operated winery make a modern classic in Sonoma. Both of their Zinfandels are fantastic parts of any wine tasting, but the Sbragia team sources Cabernet Sauvignon from one of California’s most revered and storied vineyards, the Monte Rosso Vineyard. Located at 1200 feet on the Sonoma Side of the Mayacamas mountain range, the red iron rich soils are rocky and well drained so that the old head trained vines struggle to produce a tiny concentrated crop of dense Zinfandel as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. The bottling at Sbragia is a reserve wine of the estate, and a prime example of what an old vine vineyard in a historic Sonoma region can produce.
