Grgich Hills Estate
1829 St. Helena Hwy
Mike Grgich and his namesake winery have been making wine since the late 70’s, and have created a legacy. Mike was part of the now famous “Judgement of Paris” tasting of 1976, and has since gained adoration as a Napa Valley icon. Over 90 years old, you can still find him walking through the busy tasting room as he charms guests with his old-world wit. The contrasting modern winery is committed to natural wine growing and general sustainability. Mike built his fame on great, Chardonnay and hasn’t missed the mark yet. The 2013 Napa Valley Chardonnay skipped malolactic fermentation and was grown at the cool southern tip of the valley, contributing a bright acidity and subtle minerality. The slow ripening vineyards allowed this wine to develop tropical mango and ripe peach flavors on the nose and in the palate. Let us set up a wine tasting for you that deepens the story of Mike Grgich.
