This historic three-story winery was built in 1876 and is one of the first stone wine cellars in St. Helena. After prohibition, the top two stories were converted to a residence and in 2002 the cellar re-opened as William Cole Vineyards. Winemaker, William Ballentine’s wine making philosophy is to produce wine picked from grapes at their optimum when harvested. Wine produced from these grapes displays both intensity and ripeness.
