Napa Valley Wineries – Vineyard 29
In 2000, Chuck and Anne McMinn acquired the stewardship of Vineyard 29, taking it from a single vineyard to a full scale winery. They also acquired the historic Aida vineyard in 2000. The combination of two sites, a new state-of-the-art winemaking facility and the skills of renowned winemaker, Philippe Melka, led Vineyard 29 to a new level in winemaking. They believe in crafting wines from the vineyard soil up. Applying the Old World theory of “elevage” – raising each vintage as one would raise a child – they give each vine gentle care and attention. In 2008, they acquired the neighboring property, which includes seven acres of cabernet sauvignon and one acre of cabernet franc vines. They are in the process of integrating this property into their portfolio and wine production.
