4155 Wine Creek Road, Healdsburg, CA 95448
Michel-Schlumberger hearkens not only to the early Spanish influence on California history, but simultaneously speaks to the European history of the people here. The winery itself features stucco walls, a bell tower, a grand courtyard and is a gorgeous setting for wine tasting in Sonoma. The team here is committed to being responsible stewards of the land, and focus on farming practices that can keep the vineyard productive for generations. They make every effort to use proven sustainable methods in order to preserve human and environmental well being. And while the wine making team at Michel-Schlumberger make a variety of red and white wines, they focus on high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon La Revolution is a favorite wine for us. It is a rich wine with a long concentrated finish and is made from vineyards high and low in the Dry Creek Valley.

Martin Ray Winery
2191 Laguna Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95401
The wine tastings offered at Martin Ray Winery begin long before we get there. They believe in crafting the wines early in the vineyard, and keep quality standards high as they produce unique wines from California’s diverse wine growing regions. The wines reflect their carefully selected growers and vineyard sites as the Martin Ray winemaking team search for grapes that express soil, climate, and surroundings in which they are grown. The winery and tasting room are located in the picturesque heart of Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, and include a Beau Wine Tours guest favorite form the same region, the 2013 Dark Star Hill Pinot Noir. This small lot wine is a joyous combination of juicy cherry, Asian spice, and a subtle graphite minerality. Butterscotch from the oak lend to a plush mouth feel and compliment the dense red fruit on the palate.
