Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
December 13, 2014 – 6 p.m.
Petaluma’s riverside location once again provides a unique setting as a flotilla of decorated boats streams into the Petaluma River Turning Basin in celebration of the holiday season. Bring your camera as the thousands of lights reflecting off the water makes the Lighted Boat Parade a favorite event for photographers. The flotilla remains on view all evening in the Historic Downtown harbor behind the Great Petaluma Mill at 6 Petaluma Blvd. No. and “B” Street. The night is still young…enjoy great food, drink and live entertainment in historic downtown. Check out the Winter Window Walk to view beautifully decorated windows and shops. Merchants open late for you!

A 1920’s style Circus based on the French tradition – Le Cirque de Bohème – will transport you into a magical travel filled with enchantment, wonder & adventure. A Magician, Contortionist, Hat Juggling, Ball Spinning, Unicycle, Mime, and eccentric Clown, Knife-Throwing and other assorted denizens of Paris of the 1920’s ….experience the work of world class performers whose talents are definitely woven into the story of the Bohemian of Paris atop the hill of Montmartre just near “Le Sacré Coeur Cathedral.” Le Cirque de Bohème is an intimate gathering limited to 130 guests per show under the charming tent in the gardens at Cornerstone.

Occidental Union Hotel Carols & Cookies

The Union Hotel’s holiday event has become so renowned that visitors come from San Francisco and beyond to enjoy the caroling and thousands of cookies baked by Union Hotel crew. One visitor, with a white beard and red jacket, comes to the hotel all the way from the North Pole. The tradition began more than 30 years ago when the manager of the Union’s saloon, offered hot apple cider and sweet treats to carolers gathered in the hotel’s bar. There are gingerbread men, Christmas trees, snowmen, twinkling stars and even hotel-shaped cookies with “Union Hotel” pressed into them. The parlor doors are flung open and over 3,000 cookies and cider are shared around! Stay for the delicious Italian dinner and tuck into the Inn at Occidental for a quaint weekend away.
