Food and Wine Adventures In Healdsburg

Sonoma County is a sprawling California wine country. Sonoma features wine tour and tasting opportunities from the San Pablo Bay in the south to the Mendocino County border in the north, with rugged coastline and many inland valleys in between. While Santa Rosa is the biggest town, Healdsburg is the one that encapsulates the rustic and agrarian feel of Sonoma, with the sophisticated tastes of world wine travelers. The Plaza in downtown Healdsburg is so full of activities, it may be a challenge to go anywhere else! We have a few spots that we end up going back to over and over.

Chris Donatiello spent years marketing and selling wine in New York, before he wanted to settle and make his own great wines, full of character. Combining business expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and a committed love of wine, he crafted his winery with a focus on the fruit and land of the Russian River Valley through Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A wine tasting at his downtown tasting room includes wines that are made with proven traditional techniques and complemented by modern equipment and experience. While sipping through the local wines, we never miss a Saturday morning stroll through the rest of the local fruits and veggies at the Healdsburg Farmers Market. The farmers here pay as much attention to education and neighborhood enrichment as the fresh, seasonal and sustainable cheeses, honeys, beads, fish, meat and eggs they bring to market every week. Founded in 1978, Healdsburg  was one of the original Certified Farmer’s Markets in California and is owned and operated the farmers and vendors of the market to help benefit the local agricultural community.
