Realm Cellars, one of the most electrifying and dynamic domains in Napa Valley, opened Realm North in 2024, a new winemaking facility and an adjacent tasting room. Realm North is dedicated to crafting its flagship blend, The Bard, a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that Realm has produced since its beginnings over 20 years ago. The Bard is foundational to Realm, representing the winery’s quest to create an iconic and approachable wine that captures the essence of Napa Valley and punches above its weight in terms of value.
The tasting room at Realm North reflects the ethos of The Bard, that is, an inviting, approachable space with greater access and availability for Realm’s members and guests. Visitors will be seated at a private table or in the lounge with views of the Vaca Mountains and surrounded by art, including two murals by illustrator Craig Frazier, original label art of The Bard, Fidelio, and Hartwell XX, and other artworks by artists Realm follows and respects including Sergio Albiac, Alea Pinar Du Pre, Silvia Ji, Jim Sullivan, Richard Twose and Jiechang Yang. Each piece of art tells a story about Realm’s journey and ethos.
Guests can look forward to tasting a selection of current-release wines in a friendly, communal atmosphere. For an additional fee, there are also library wines and wines that inspire Realm available for tasting. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to sample special editions of The Bard, which showcase select grower partners like Blair and Gamble Vineyards.
The Matheson is a vibrant restaurant, sushi kitchen, wine lounge, and rooftop bar nestled in the charming heart of downtown Healdsburg. Since its opening in September 2021 by the talented Chef/Owner Dustin Valette, The Matheson has created a delightful trio of culinary and wine experiences. Chef Valette embraces creativity, often refreshing the menu to highlight the best of each micro-season, ensuring each dish is a true celebration of the land and the present moment.
Visitors can choose from the inviting main dining room, an intimate private dining mezzanine, or the stunning rooftop lounge, Roof 106. And if you’re fortunate, you’ll hear enchanting stories about Honoré Valette, affectionately known as Pépé, Chef Valette’s great-grandfather, adding a personal touch to your experience.
